What is musical storytelling, anyway?
To us, music has two parts: the musical choices, or what the composer of the music decides, and the story, which is what YOU decide! While listening to music, ask yourself:
How does the music make me feel?
Do I hear any colors or characters?
If this music were in a movie, what would be happening?
And the best part is, that story can change any time you like, and every time you listen! Check out this video to see an example of how to decide a musical story! —>

Craft Corner

Stick Puppets
Turn your favorite character into a stick puppet! Stick puppets can be used to act out a story as you listen to music.
To make one, you’ll need:
markers (one or more!)
scissors
tape
a stick or long object - a pencil works great!
Draw your character on a piece of paper. It can be anything you like! *tip: listen to your favorite song for character inspiration"
Cut out your character using scissors. Leave some extra space around the edges, just like in this picture!
Grab your stick or long object - I'm using a pencil here. Flip your character over, and use tape to secure it to the top of the stick.
Draw a background for your character on another piece of paper, put on some music, and bring your character to life!
